I moved to Poynton 13 years ago, having spent many happy childhood visits here and always feeling a strong connection to the area. I qualified as a barrister and now work as a University Law Lecturer, while also serving in the Royal Navy Reserve.
Soon after settling in Poynton, I became actively involved in local campaigns to protect our greenbelt and preserve wildlife habitats. Six years later, I was elected as a Poynton Town Councillor. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Deputy Mayor for four years and Mayor for two. During my time in office, I led the development of the Town Council’s strategic plan, helping to shape a clear vision for our community’s future.
One of my proudest achievements has been founding the Poynton Youth Mental Health Fund. To raise awareness and support, I completed a 100-mile running challenge in just one month, and organised children’s craft workshops and town-wide treasure hunt trails.
I’ve also worked alongside fellow Conservative councillors to stand up for local services and green spaces. I chaired the public consultation opposing Labour-led plans to fell over 80 trees at Poynton Pool, and successfully led the campaign to keep our Leisure Centre open.
I remain deeply committed to maintaining and improving services for the people of Poynton, and to enhancing the quality of life for everyone who calls this town home.
