Macclesfield MP David Rutley is encouraging local residents to have their say on plans for major new housing developments in Macclesfield and Cheshire East. The draft new Local Plan produced by Cheshire East Council sets out where houses could be built in Macclesfield and surrounding areas up to 2030. Cheshire East Council has earmarked four sites in Macclesfield for new-build housing.

David Rutley welcomes rise in apprenticeships

David Rutley MP has welcomed new figures that show a record number of people in Macclesfield started an apprenticeship in 2011/12. The figures also show provisional results for the number of apprenticeship starts in the first quarter of 2012/13 – in August to October 2012 270 people in the Macclesfield constituency started apprenticeships in just three months.
