Macclesfield MP David Rutley joined members of the Bollington/Thurles Twinning Group for a buffet lunch as they welcomed their Irish guests to Bollington. Established in 1979, the Bollington and Thurles twinning was the first between an English town and a counterpart in the Republic of Ireland.
Following a Twitter invitation from Prestbury Farm Shop owners, Charlie Lawson and Debbie Stanley, David Rutley MP visited the store to find out more about the local produce on offer. Prestbury Farm Shop was opened by Charlie and Debbie in 2010 and has firmly established itself on the Prestbury shopping scene.
When pupils from Puss Bank School Council visited Parliament they used the visit as an opportunity to ask David Rutley MP to ‘send my friend to school.’ The request follows the pupils’ project on human rights. Year 3/4 focused on the right to education and used the Send My Friend to School campaign to find out more about the role education plays in children’s lives across the world.
